Irish airline Aer Lingus has bolstered its Belfast

first_imgIrish airline Aer Lingus has bolstered its Belfast hub and widened its travel horizons, opening new flight routes to southern Europe this week. Flights from Belfast to Rome and Malaga have now been launched, while thrice weekly services to Faro and Budapest are soon to be added – taking the airline’s total Belfast routes to eight.Belfast International Airport has recently grown into a major hub, prompting demands for further infrastructural developments, including a request from one of its major operators – easyJet – for a disused local railway line to be revived.John Doran, the managing director of Belfast International Airport, welcomed the new flight routes, explaining: “We are very pleased to see the arrival of the third Aer Lingus aircraft to be based at Belfast International. This is the culmination of the initial £100 million Aer Lingus investment at the airport and we look forward to working with the airline over the coming months to grow and develop these routes.”Aer Lingus chief executive Dermot Mannion added that the new routes reinforced the group’s commitment to its Belfast base – and would serve to enhance choice for travellers across Ireland.ReturnOne wayMulti-cityFromAdd nearby airports ToAdd nearby airportsDepart14/08/2019Return21/08/2019Cabin Class & Travellers1 adult, EconomyDirect flights onlySearch flights Map RelatedAer Lingus announces Munich, Milan and Lanzarote flightsAer Lingus announces Munich, Milan and Lanzarote flightsQuarter of a million passengers use Aer Lingus’ Belfast to Heathrow flightAer Lingus has announced that over a quarter of a million passengers used its Belfast to London Heathrow flight during 2008.Aer Lingus adds winter flights from CorkIrish carrier Aer Lingus has announced its winter service at Cork Airport with a new flight to Geneva.last_img read more
